Summer 2018 with Lynn

Good afternoon Everyone and welcome. It is great to see you today. Thank you for stopping by last week to read my review of Nico J. Genes’Lessons in Life.’ Today I’m sharing a few things happening in my life over the past few months.
Picture 3As many of you know, this year I published my book, ‘Awakened By Fate,’ a story about a troubled woman who is forced to walk in another direction after a tragedy one night. Now she is confronted with her fears as she adapts to her new way of life. Things that she used to throw off her shoulders were now in her face. Along the way, she meets new friends. Is romance on the horizon? We shall see.

Summer for all my life has been my favorite season of the year. Not so after this year. In July, we had over 100 degree days with one being 117. Thankfully, we got out of town that weekend and went up to enjoy the coolness of Cambria, which is located on the coast along Central CA. It was really beautiful and we got to see baby elephant seals playing in the ocean. We were in heaven.

We went to another show this year – Tribal Seeds, which for those who aren’t familiar is a Reggae band. We took a road trip out to Riverside, CA to see them. The venue was better than I had expected. What was nice was we were able to sit in our seats up on the balcony and see the show from above. I felt there was too much light action and distracted me from the show. However, the music was really nice and I got into the groove right away.
IMG_1155It wouldn’t be summer without a trip to Dodger Stadium. We went to see the Dodgers play the Arizona Diamondbacks. We had great seats and, as usual, had a blast. Unfortunately, they lost that night. There will be next time.

I have been actively at work on two manuscripts. One of them has a mystery element to it as well as a paranormal theme. There is also romance. I really love my protagonist and like what she does in the book. She is kindhearted and gives back.

My other work in progress is fantasy and paranormal. I’m not giving away the location of the story so you are going to have to wait until it debuts. It is told from two points of view. Both of my protagonists are fabulous, each having a different personality. I also have supporting characters who enhance the story. There is plenty of romance. All in all, it has been a fun journey with this one.
IMG_1101My life wouldn’t be complete without me reading a few great books by some great authors. I recently read Nico J. Genes‘, ‘Reverie Series‘ and Jenny Frame‘s, ‘Unexpected.’ Both my reviews are in the archives of this blog. I encourage you to check them out. Nico also invited me to write the forward to her latest book, ‘Lessons in Life.’ This was a huge honor and I thank Nico a thousand times.

Recently I had an interview with Bryan Aiello on what inspired me to become a writer as well as other things about me. It was a fun interview and I thank Bryan for taking the time to talk with me. You can listen to the interview here:

Thank You for Your Support

Good afternoon friends and a warm welcome to you. Thank you for stopping by last week to read my review of Jenny Frame‘s ‘Unexpected.’ I really appreciate all of your support. Today I’m featuring an interview I had about two weeks ago from TB Markinson on Iheartlesfic.

Hello Everyone and thank you for joining me today. I want to thank TB Markinson for inviting me to share with you. As you know, my book, Awakened by Fate has been out for a little while now. I couldn’t thank you enough for the support you have given me. In addition to the book, I’ve enjoyed doing my blog. I have read some really great books, so stay tuned for my future reviews.

Jackie, my protagonist, is a self-centered woman who thinks she has her life all in order. She has a job that she strives to do, although many times she gets distracted. None-the-less, she still tries. She has ambitions but doesn’t know how to go after them, so she is more or less in a stuck situation career-wise.

Then an event happens that totally changes her world and turns it upside down.

For the rest of the interview click on the link below:

https://iheartlesfic.com/2018/08/01/guest-post-awakened-by-fate-by-lynn-lawler/

Christmas 2017I had an eye-opening experience as a result of writing this book. At first, I thought the universe was pulling something on me, then I realized all of this, was making me a stronger writer. I had to go through some things. This made me see I was doing the right thing by pursuing my writing. There is nothing else I’d rather be doing than sitting at my computer typing and editing my stories for all of you to enjoy.

The hardest part of writing is the promotions. You have to get out on social media and blast your posts to different sites. However, I got to meet some incredible people along the way whom I am forever grateful for. They have turned out to be my support team.

I want to thank you for stopping by to visit. I have really appreciated all your support over the years and wish you all the best. Be sure to stop by next week when I’ll be presenting my review for Nico J. GenesLessons in Life.’ I’ll see you then.

Until Next Time,

Lynn

My Review of Jenny Frame’s ‘Unexpected’

Good Afternoon Friends and welcome. Thank you for stopping by last week. It was a pleasure seeing you all. I want to give you a big thanks of appreciation for all the support you’ve given me for my book ‘Awakened by Fate.’ Today I’m featuring my book review for Jenny Frame‘s ‘Unexpected.’ This one you don’t want to miss so read on.
Unexpected‘Dale turned around and gave her a wink. “Great things can happen from little beginnings.”’

Dale McGuire – ‘Unexpected’

This story takes place in London, both the city and a more rural area. There are two protagonists, Dale and Becca who share one thing in common treasured by both. Pay attention in the beginning so that you will understand the roles of the players. Let’s meet them.
Unexpected

‘Dale turned around and gave her a wink. “Great things can happen from little beginnings.”’

Dale McGuire – ‘Unexpected’

Dale McGuire is a car mechanic and has a sweet soul. She comes off as being tough and rough around the edges. However, she is very confident in herself. She doesn’t like to share much about herself and only a handful of people know her story. She loves to entertain women but refuses to let them see the real her. She enjoys a good challenge and won’t stop until she gets what she wants. She holds a secret which is a shocker when revealed. Be prepared.
Jenny's Quote.pngThe other protagonist, Becca, is a commercial artist and a single mother to a gifted child. She is beautiful, but only on the outside. She comes off as a lonely scared aloof girl in the beginning. She is rigid and holds her feelings inside for the most part. I didn’t like my first impression of her and she made me feel uncomfortable. Truthfully, I wasn’t expecting much from her. But read on.

The only person she trusts is her child, and the mother-child relationship between them is priceless. She also holds a different secret that she won’t let go of. You’ll see more in the book.

Introducing the antagonists, Ashley and Trent.

Ashley is a news writer for a well-known publication. I didn’t like this character because she is too self-centered. Her ulterior motive caused a lot of drama.

Trent is Becca’s ex-lover and is very much still in love with her. From the start, she got on my nerves. Her words and actions add intensity to the story which plays an important role in the plot.
Author PhotoThere is romance in the story and it is hot. I will warn you that certain scenes are a bit on the graphic side, including a few choice words.

A twist early in the story is interesting. What comes next is mind blowing and you’ll never guess what happens!

What I like is both leads grow. I got to see softer sides of their personalities. I applaud the author for providing impressive flashbacks of Dale, which enriched her character. It was beautiful watching both characters evolve.

The pace of the story is moderate. This book is a real page turner. I recommend reading it in one sitting. It took me about five and half hours to read. You don’t want to miss this one. You may shed a tear or two so keep your tissue box handy. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Here is an excerpt for you to enjoy!

UnexpectedBecca felt the room start to spin a little as she took a seat in the waiting room of her lawyer’s office. The Monday morning journey into the city of London had been horrendous. After putting Jake on the school bus, she walked a mile to the nearest bus stop, took the bus to the nearest train station, and caught a train to the city. Her stress levels were sky-high, and no doubt offered her a seat. Becca could have kissed her.

By the time she arrived at the offices of Trent, Trent, and Masters, she was ready to faint, vomit, or cry, possibly all three.

Becca gripped the arms of her chair tightly, trying to steady her dizziness, and said to the receptionist, “Could I have some water, please?”

“Of course, Ms. Harper.” The staff at Trent, Trent, and Masters knew her well. They had been her family’s solicitors for many years, and the firm was now run by the younger Ms. Trent.

The receptionist returned with a chilled bottle of water and a glass. “Trent won’t be too much longer.”

Trent, as everyone called her, was an old friend and ex-lover. She was the one person in the world who had always stood by her, and although their relationship didn’t work out, they had remained friends. She trusted her implicitly with her business, just not her heart.

Becca took a sip of cool water and some big breaths of air to try and quell the sick dizzy feeling she was having.
UnexpectedTrent opened her office door and with a big smile and a welcoming gesture. “Becca, wonderful to see you. Come in.”

Trent looked as smart and dapper as usual, with a pale grey three-piece suit and highly polished shoes. She was very good looking and always popular with the ladies.

Becca allowed Trent to give her a quick hug and kiss before she sat down.

“How’s the sprog?” Trent asked.

The term immediately made Becca mad. “His name is Jake.”

Trent held up her hands defensively. “I know. It’s just an expression. How is Jake, then? Still on his way to becoming the next Albert Einstein?”

Becca sat down carefully and Trent sat on the corner of the desk with her arms folded. That was Trent. She always had to play these games, but she had lost the ultimate power game with her.

“Jake’s doing well. His new school has really helped him grow.”

“Hmm.” Trent let out a long breath. “It’s extremely expensive, Becca.”

It was times like this that Becca wondered if having her ex as her lawyer was a good idea, but no matter what stupid things Trent might say, she could trust her with her personal business.

“Yes, and something you will never be burdened with,” Becca said with a sharp tinge to her voice.

“Okay, okay. No need to get excited.” Trent walked back around and sat at her desk.

Becca had been mulling over whether to ask Trent’s advice about Dale McGuire, and decided it couldn’t do any harm to get legal advice. “Trent, before we get started, I wanted to ask you something.”

Jackie shuddered. After a quick debate, she decided not to confide in her. After all she didn’t know Lisa very well and didn’t want to burden her with her problems.

“Thanks.”

“Listen, the reason for my call was that I wanted to know what you were doing next Thursday. If I’m not mistaken, don’t you have that day off?”

“Yeah.”

“Well, I was wondering if you’d like to come over and see my sculptures.”

Energetically, Jackie replied, “I’d love to come over and see your work. Recently a friend took me to an art gallery and they had one sculpture artist.

“I just love working with plaster. Sometimes I paint them. Tribal looks are my favorite. I have a picture of one that I recently sold that I’d like to show you.”

“I wished it was next Thursday already. I know I’m in for a real treat.”

“It’s a date then. How about around 6:00 p.m?”

After Jackie hung up the phone, she went to the kitchen and refilled her glass. Plopping on the couch, she thought about her vision she’d witnessed of Lisa.

I wonder if Lisa is going to hit the big time? Why else did this come to me?

“I know, why don’t I try a meditation and see if anything comes forward,” she said aloud. She prepared.

It didn’t take her long to get relaxed, since she was already drunk. Closing her eyes, she began deep breathing. Soon the white glowing screen materialized. At first, all she saw were colored shapes. Then people started to materialize.

Suddenly, Jackie saw herself among the crowd. Loud voices and music were all around her, clear as day. The smell of beer and smoke filled the air. With awe in her eyes, Jackie looked amongst the people huddled in front of the Bowtie Club.

A group of people emerged from the bar and walked over to the curb. One person met eye contact with Jackie and gave her a strange look. Jackie looked away, not caring what it meant. Looking around, she recognized a woman whom she used to know down at the corner. Jackie moved in closer.

A chill crept up her legs, so she walked more briskly. Once at the corner, she met eye contact with her friend. However, the woman just kept talking like nothing at all. No matter how much Jackie waved, she could not get her attention. Disappointed, she turned to walk down the street. When she got to the corner, she turned and continued walking.

Out of nowhere came the loud barking of a large dog. Frantically, she bolted down the street as fast as she could. To her horror, the dog chased her!

I’ve got to get to safety, and fast too!

The next thing she knew, she was back in her living room and rubbing her legs, trying to get warm and out of breath. She tried to rationalize what had just happened and had no success. And then a dog reacted to her. Frightened, she left all the lights on and before she went to bed.

My Review for Graysen Morgen’s ‘Mission Compromised’

Good afternoon Everyone and welcome. Thank you for stopping by last week and thank you, Erin Wade for the interview. Recently I read a few books, including Graysen Morgen’s ‘Mission Compromised.’  Today I am sharing my review of the story.

Book CoverThe story starts out in Fiji with its over-the-water bungalows and lush mountain ranges. There are a few points of view in the story with the first two debuting early in the plot. Lets’ meet them.

Natalia de la Faria Moreno is a beauty who radiates everywhere. Immediately I was drawn to her kind nature. She adores her father and mother. She is well traveled, having lived in many countries growing up. Very intelligent and has a deep care for things that are important to her, such as her conscious-being profession. I found her charming, including when she was on the emotional side. She is seductive and needy, but I wanted more of her.

Christian Garnier is another main character who travels to Fiji. It is spelled out clearly that she has trust issues and can’t tell the difference between a criminal or a saint. She is a private person and doesn’t openly share. The few times she did are priceless. She does have a soothing vibe and knows exactly what to say at the right time. Her dangerous lifestyle will give you goosebumps. She will keep you guessing the entire ride as well as surprised.

There is a third point of view, Collette. She is Christian’s ex-lover. She is brash and still holds onto a past pain. However, I feel they worked well together. You’ll see what I mean in the book.

A fourth point of view pops up later, which I feel is unnecessary.

One of the antagonists is so well described that he will give you the creeps right from the start. Even his name will make you shiver. You’ll see in the book the sleazy role he plays and how he operates.

There is hot steamy romance in the story which I will leave for the reader.

The author has good descriptions of the scenes and I love all the places the protagonists visit. She includes things like ‘salty air’ and ‘turquoise water’. She did research on the story locations and included some local attractions such as a cathedral in London, which made me feel like I was there. This adds beauty to the story and makes you want to read more.

The pace of the story starts out slow. There is an exciting twist that follows that will get you hooked. The author takes you on a roller coaster ride around the world, visiting several countries. It took me about six hours to read, so I would carve out some time to read. I am recommending this book for all who enjoy suspense and mystery. Be prepared for a sudden ending.

Here is an excerpt to get you started.

Book Cover

Natalia stood on the upper deck of the catamaran, feeling the salty air tinge her face as the boat raced across the turquoise water. It had been so long since she’d had the sun on her back and ocean water on her skin. Working as a Marine Conservationist, you’d think she spent most of her time around marine life and ocean water, but her job was managing the education workshops for teachers, as well as all of their educational tools. The reason she was going for her PhD was to become the Head of Education at the Oceanarium. Her goal in becoming a conservationist was to educate people on marine life and how to preserve it.

As the cat rolled over a wave, Natalia’s mind was elsewhere and she was thrown slightly off balance. She barely had time to react before someone steadied her. Natalia didn’t have to look twice, to tell the person with short, curly, dark hair and dark sunglasses, was female.

“Careful,” the woman said as she passed by, walking towards the port side from the bow without looking back.

Natalia’s focus went back to the island in front of them, growing larger as they became closer. She reached up, touching her pendant. “Thank you, Papai,” she whispered.

#FF #Flashback Friday – Meet author Erin Wade

Hello Friends and a warm welcome to you all. Today I am having a #FF and am presenting my interview with author Erin Wade originally published on 20-Oct-18. Since then she has been hard at work with her new novels that are now available. Here is more of what she’s been up to:

Lynn, so much has happened in our lives since we last visited. You have released your excellent and exciting novel “Awakened by Fate” which is doing quite well for you.

After my interview with you regarding “Three Times as Deadly”, it really took off. I thank you for that.

You asked me to bring you up-to-date on my books, so here goes. “Branded Wives” followed “Three Times as Deadly.” Then “Living Two Lives” and “Don’t Dare the Devil.” I now have seven #1 Best Sellers on Amazon. “Don’t Dare the Devil was a bit of a leap for me. It is my first foray into paranormal and it has been my top-selling book. We released it on June 18 and it has been #1 on Amazon’s Top New Releases for the past 25 days. We are keeping our fingers crossed that it will remain #1 for 30 days. That would be a personal best for us.

Book Cover 3

As we discussed in our October interview, the best thing that has happened to me in my professional life is Editor Susan Hughes. She has pushed me and my books to a whole new level. I thank God for Susan every day.

Susan will begin working on “The Roughneck and the Lady” next week. We hope to release it in September. It has plenty of action, tons of danger, a little humor and lots of love.

“We have two additional books in the works, “Shakespeare Under Cover” and “Wrongly Accused” that we hope to release before December 31. This will give me ten published books, a goal I have been working toward since January 2017.

I’d like to give a shout out to three people who have helped me realize my goals. My awesome beta readers Julie Versoi and Laure Dherbécourt and “The Voice” Victoria Mei who narrates all our audiotapes.

Thank you for giving me this opportunity. I appreciate you more than I could ever express.

And now here is the original interview. Enjoy.

Good afternoon friends and welcome. Today I have Author Erin Wade with us to chat. Erin’s new book, Three Times as Deadly is now out and is doing exceptionally well. At the bottom, I have included a nice excerpt for you to read. I know you’re going to enjoy it. Erin is an imaginative story teller whose books lure in the reader. She is also an adventurer and isn’t afraid to take risks. Come meet this amazing woman whom you’re going to love.

“We all have our own realities.”

D.J. Jouett, Must be Murder

I want to thank Lynn Lawler for inviting me to be the interview today. It is an honor to be associated with Lynn and her blog.

Tell us about yourself.
I live with my wonderful wife Alex, my dog Tank and our cat Candy in Austin, Texas. I am thirty. Alex is a year older than I. We met while attending the University of Texas in Austin. November 5 will be our ninth anniversary.

Alex is an educator and I am a land developer. My day job didn’t require much time so I often found myself with time on my hands. Alex suggested that I try my hand at writing fiction. My first books were murder mysteries written for mainstream readers. Last year (2016) I was writing a book called The Destiny Factor. I intended it to be a mainstream murder mystery but somewhere along the way it assumed a life of its own and morphed into a lesbian romance/thriller. I had never thought about writing lesfic, but discovered that I enjoyed writing about what I knew and had experienced. So, a lesfic author was born. In January 25, 2017 I released my first “intentional” lesfic novel, Too Strong to Die. It shot to number ten the same day it was released and reached number one on Feb. 1.  I had the bug. On my birthday, May 9, I released Death Was Too Easy which went to #1 in Hot New Releases. Currently, all three of my 2017 books are on Amazon’s Top 100 Best Sellers List for Action/Adventure/Romance and The Destiny Factor has stayed on the Top 100 Best Sellers list for the past fourteen months.

What inspired you to write professionally?
My wife convinced me to write fiction.

What is your new book, ‘Three Times as Deadly’ about?
‘Three Times as Deadly’ is about Sloan Cartwright, who awakens from a coma, in an African hospital. She has no memory of her past or the three women who claim to be married to her. The book is funny, exciting and filled with action and romance. It also deals with the plight of rhinos and elephants who are being hunted into extinction.

3XadSloan

What is your advice about staying in the positive?
I am a very positive person, so I don’t know much about negativity. I think that the most important think in any individual’s life is the person they select to spend their life with. A good partner can build one up or tear one down. I can honestly say that my wife makes me be the very best person I can be. Life with her is amazing.

Do you go out into nature to meditate or quiet your mind? Where have you been and how was it for you?
We built a home in 2015 that Alex designed. It is a sanctuary for us both. I have an office that overlooks our pool and waterfall. Tank’s toy chest is built in and doubles as his window seat. It is right beside my desk so he is close to me. Our home is very peaceful and inspiring for me. Alex has decorated it beautifully. There is truly no other place in the world I’d rather be.

Are you a dog whisperer? What was your dog, Tank like as a puppy?
I’m not a dog whisperer. I think Tank may be a human whisperer. Tank is a rescue dog and has always been precious. When he was tiny, he was just a little ball of fur. We used to call him our little dust bunny. I have had dogs all my life and I loved them, but Tank is truly the sweetest, most loving dog I have ever had the privilege to belong to. At first, I thought he might be blind because no matter where I went he was right behind me with his nose touching my ankle, but his eyesight is fine. Now he is tall enough that his nose touches the bottom of the calf of my leg. He always stays that close to me. I think I’m his security blanket.

Tank settled

Where is a good hang out place to kick back and socialize with friends?
We are homebodies. We have two other couples we share fun times with. We have been friends since college. We rotate to each other’s homes on Saturday nights where the hostesses serve dinner and we play high-stakes poker. The maximum bid is twenty-five cents with a two-bump maximum so the most one can lose on one hand is seventy-five cents. Pretty high stakes, huh?

We have two other couples who are very active in our lives. We rotate hosting dinner in our homes every Saturday night. They are professional women in completely different fields from us. One couple consists of a mergers & acquisitions attorney and a doctor. The other couple is a forensic scientist and a psychiatrist. Both couples are fascinating but I have to admit my favorite stories come from the forensic scientist. She owns her own facility and is hired by smaller law enforcement agencies who don’t maintain their own forensic facility. She will show up in one of my books one day. Her stories are sometimes hysterical, sometimes very sad, sometimes unbelievable, but always entertaining. These four people open a new world to us every week. We have been friends since college and they are still so interesting to me. I think my wife wins the prize for funniest stories. She is an educator and some of the things children and their parents come up with are just laughable. I have learned so much from these five people.

We have my family over once a month and on holidays. My wife is a terrific cook and enjoys trying out new recipes on them. They love it.

Alex’s family lives in Alabama, so we don’t see them as often as we see my folks.

Where is the next place you’re going to visit? Share all you want about it.
We are taking my brother’s twins to Branson, MO. It is a fun city with a lot of live theater and entertainment. The best thing is the Duck Boats. Everyone should ride the Duck Boats at least once in their life.

Would you want to write a non-fiction book? If so, what would it be about?
No, I don’t think I would be a good non-fiction writer.

What is the most daring theme you’ve written about?
I am an action/adventure/romance writer. Lesbian romance is probably as daring as I get.  I don’t delve into things I know nothing about. I would never write a 50 Shades of Gray type book. I did notice that one reviewer gave me four stars because I don’t go into details in my sex scenes, but I figure we all know where those end up and I like to let my readers us their imaginations. Also, sometimes my mother reads my books.

Erin’s Amazon Author Central page

What types of live music do you like to listen to. Who was the last performance you saw?
We love musicals, reviews, plays, etc. The last live musical we attended was last month in Fort Worth at Bass Hall to see The Carol King Musical, Beautiful. We do fly to New York several times a year to see musicals there.

Have you won any awards for your writing?

Not yet!

What is a fun attraction to visit in Austin, TX? What would be a good restaurant you would recommend?
We love taking the twins to The Schlitterbahn Water Park in New Braunfels. It is about an hour from Austin. Great fun for the entire family.

The best restaurant in Austin is Truluck’s Seafood, Steaks and Crab House.   There are two of them, but we always go to the one downtown on Colorado St. They have live music with a female singer and a band. She is dynamite.

heading for the ship

Do you have any advice for new writers?

GRAMMARLY & MS WORD ARE NOT ENOUGH!

If you read my reviews, you will find that I was lambasted by a few reviewers about grammatical errors In Too Strong to Die. I started searching for an editor. Even with an editor, I still critical comments about errors in Death Was Too Easy.

I became a woman on a mission. I asked questions. I inquired about who was the best editor I could hire. When I read a very clean book, I checked to see who edited it. After two months of intense searching, I narrowed my search down to Susan Hughes. As busy as she is, I was able to get Susan to accept me as a client.

Susan is—I can’t say enough nice things about Susan—awesome. We worked through Hurricane Harvey to release my latest book Three Times as Deadly on Sept. 17. It jumped to number one on the first day of release and has continued to hold that position. Three Times as Deadly has received several positive reviews and no one has been critical of the writing.

If I could give a single piece of advice to new writers it would be, Get a good editor. If you think you can’t afford one, you’re wrong. You can’t afford to be without one. As authors, we pour our heart and soul into our “masterpieces”. Believe me they become so much more with a great editor.

I know the burning question in the mind of any new author reading this is, “How much will a good editor cost me?”

A good editor will cost between $1,500 to $2,000, but you will make it up in sales. They will pay for themselves.

The other thing I would suggest to new writers is get a seasoned Beta Reader. They are worth their weight in gold. I am pleased that Julie Versoi has agreed to be my beta reader on future novels.

If you are lucky, an experienced writer will take an interest in you and become your mentor. I am fortunate that Kathy Brodland took an interest in my books and has given me guidance. Kathy is the one who told me to hire the best editor I could find.

I feel that I am fortunate to have assembled a small but exceptional team. With Susan, Julie and Kathy, I think 2018 will be the year of Erin Wade.

Me: I agree with Erin. You put so much effort into your work that it deserves the very best. I can also lead you in the direction of some good beta readers too if you are interested.

What is next for you?
I am currently working on a book titled Living Two Lives. It is about a fan, Jules Devine, who has a tremendous crush on a lesfic writer named Darcy Lake, even though the writer is happily married. Jules attends a national convention so she can have Lake autograph books for her. Secretly, she hopes to spend time with the author. A weekend with Darcy Lake is so much more than Jules dreamed and it changes her life forever. Jules is pulled into a world she never knew existed. A world of passion, deception, and death. It is a nail biter.

With all this said, Erin, you’re going to definitely keep us all posted about your new upcoming thriller. As promised, here is a nice excerpt from, ‘Three Times as Deadly’ for everyone. Enjoy!

“Hello, Sleeping Beauty.” A tall, stout nurse smiled at me. I squinted to shut out the bright light she was trying to shine into my eyes.

I slowly realized I was in a hospital bed, hooked up to all types of machines, and my head was killing me.

“What happened?” I asked

“We have no idea.” The nurse smiled as she wrapped the blood pressure cuff around my upper arm and pumped it tight enough to cut off all circulation to my hand. “Someone dumped you at the emergency entrance of the hospital. You’ve been in a coma for about ten days.

“You looked like a pride of lions played keep-away with you.” She grinned at her own humor. “You have a concussion, couple of broken ribs, and various and sundry other cuts and bruises, but you’ll live.

“I am glad to see you awake.” She ripped the cuff from my bicep. My hand tingled as the feeling returned to my numb fingers. She ran a temperature wand across my forehead. “I need to get some information from you.”

I nodded, and my head kicked me hard. The pain was unbearable. I closed my eyes and opened them to find a name tag with Sadie engraved on it blocking my view. “Can you give me something for my headache?”

“I will as soon as I complete my paperwork.” Sadie wrinkled her nose and logged into the computer on the stand beside my bed.

“Date of birth?” Her attitude was efficient and direct.

“I don’t know.” I said.

“We’ll just skip the hard stuff and start with the easy questions,” she said with a smirk. “What is your name? I need the middle initial too.”

I stared at her in disbelief. This is a joke, right?

“Your name, sweetie,” she insisted.

“I . . . I don’t know,” I whispered.

Loud arguing in the hallway outside my room sent Sadie charging toward the door. Before she could reach it, two different, but equally stunning women burst into my room.

Sadie took a stance between the women and me. I raised my head and tried to look around my nurse.

“You two do realize you are in a hospital, don’t you?” Sadie scolded the women. “Keep your voices low, or I’ll have you escorted from the premises.”

The women looked contrite and edged around Sadie, but my protector wasn’t letting them get close to me.

“Who are you?” Sadie glared at them.

They answered in unison. “I’m Sloan Cartwright’s wife.”

“Well, I’ll be damn.” Sadie laughed as she turned to me. “Is that what happened to you? You got caught between these two.”

“No!” I blurted out. “I mean, I don’t know them.”

Both women glared at me as if I had defamed God.”

“Honey, I’m glad I’m not in your shoes right now,” Sadie said, chuckling. “Sloan Cartwright, is that your name?”

I struggled to sit up so I could get a better look at the two visitors. Obviously, I had good taste in women.

“Why don’t you introduce yourselves.” Sadie grinned, enjoying my predicament too much.

The beautiful blonde stepped forward. She was tall and slender, like a runner. She wore black slacks that hugged her perfect hips. A short-sleeved lavender blouse was tucked into her waistband. Toned arms and a flat stomach testified to her workout regimen. She wore a gold watch and pendant. Her green eyes seemed to change color as the light reflected from them.

“Sloan, honey, it’s me. Leigh.” Distress filled her eyes as she moved toward me. “Leigh Redding-Cartwright, your wife. We make our home in the United States. I’m here to take you home.” She blushed and added, “You call me LeeRee.”

“No! No!” Sadie intercepted her. “We still need to hear from this black beauty.”

Book CoverShe was a beauty indeed. Her features were fine and chiseled. Her ebony hair was stylishly cut. She reminded me of the actress Halle Berry. When she spoke, her French accent mingled with a touch of high English. I loved her accent. How do I know who Halle Berry is?

I looked from one woman to the other. Apparently I am an equal opportunity lover.

The black beauty smiled. “I am Amarosia Cartwright.” She bowed her head slightly. “You call me Amy. We live together here in Africa.”

Both women were earthshaking beauties.

As I gazed at them, mouth agape, the door to my room flew open, banging against the wall a couple of times as if doing a drum roll to announce the arrival of the gorgeous brunette who burst into my room. “Where is Sloan?” If the woman was also my wife, my taste in women had just shot off the Richter scale.

I realized I was holding my breath when the cardiac monitor attached to me went crazy. I didn’t know if the brunette or my predicament caused the increase in my heart rate.

“Tachycardia,” I muttered, one hand to my chest. I didn’t want the other two women to know how the brunette was affecting me. If one of them was my wife, I didn’t want to hurt her.

“Bullshit.” Sadie laughed gleefully. “You have your butt in a crack and can’t get it out. No wonder you have amnesia.”

“What is going on here?” The brunette demanded, glaring at the other women. “Sloan, what have they done to you, baby? I begged you not to come to this heathen hellhole.”

“Who are you?” Sadie demanded.

If looks could kill, Sadie would be pushing up daisies any minute. The brunette narrowed her icy blue eyes and moved to stand toe to toe with the nurse.

“I am Alexander Roland Cartwright.” She tilted her head, tossed back her long, dark hair, and stared down Sadie who stepped back to allow her access to me.

My heart jumped to triple time as Alexander Roland Cartwright moved closer to me. “What do I call you?” I gulped.

“The love of my life,” she said with a mischievous smile. “When you aren’t acting grandiose, you call me Alex.”

“What’s going on, Sloan?” She lightly stroked my cheek. “Ross managed to sneak a call to me before he disappeared. He said you’re in trouble and to trust no one.”

“I . . . I honestly don’t know,” I whimpered. Something about Alex’s soft touch brought out the baby in me.

“I flew all the way from New York to take Sloan home with me,” Leigh declared.

“Our home is here,” Amy said. “We have always lived here. Sloan is going home with me.”

Alex possessively pulled my hand into hers. “I am not letting Sloan out of my sight.”

I leaned forward to stare at the three women, and my front opening hospital gown took the opportunity to expose my ample breasts. I must admit, I am nicely endowed. Determined to resolve the uncomfortable situation, I pointed out the obvious. “You all seem to be missing something, ladies. I am a woman. I doubt that I am married to any of you.”

I didn’t miss the way each of them licked their lips as they ogled me. I pulled the treasonous gown tight around my chest. I felt like the most succulent lobster at the lobster fest.

I tried to bring some sanity to my situation. “Look, I’ve been in an accident and had a loss of memory. I don’t even know my name, much less to whom I’m married.”

The women looked at each other and then began talking all at once,

“You can take turns sitting with her,” Sadie instructed, but all of you can’t stay here all the time. You can sit in eight-hour shifts. You work it out among yourselves.”

Sadie pushed the women out the door and shoved it closed behind them. I was glad I wasn’t involved in the arguing taking place in the hallway outside my door.

Awakened by Fate

Good Afternoon Friends and welcome. Thank you for visiting last week for my review of Nico J. Genes‘ ‘Reverie Girl.’ If you haven’t had a chance to read this amazing tale, I’m encouraging you to get your copy. You will not be disappointed.

I want to thank you all for your continued support for my book, ‘Awakened by Fate.’ Recently I was interviewed by SW Andersen. You can check it out by clicking on the link below:

A lot goes into the making of a good book. In my case, it took several years. I am currently working on a few other manuscripts. Writing the story is the easy part. The hard part is editing and moving things around. I like to have the story in good shape before I send it off to the beta readers. Then they have their own notes I follow. You have to make sure everything ties together and there are no plot holes. It is easy to put in a minor character and then forget about them. That’s why it is so important to have an outline or two handy, to keep me on track.

Jackie is an interesting character in that she is so self-absorbed she doesn’t see what is going on around her. She thinks she’s doing a good job at work, at least until a rush comes in, then she doesn’t fare so well. She is walking along a path that leads to nowhere.

In the book, I go into greater details about her relationships with others. There is one woman that Jackie can’t upset. Out of jealousy and worried about losing her job, Jackie sets out to sabotage her new co-worker sent there to help her get back to speed.

Mystical Jackie

She thinks she has her life in order, but can’t see the flaws in it at least she ignores the signs. A big disappointment happens and she still doesn’t see the truth.

It is interesting regarding Jackie’s choice of lovers, including one whom she got caught with. I chose for her to have a platonic relationship with her husband for this part of the story. He is gone a lot, but one has to wonder whether or not he is choosing to go on these assignments since their relationship draws out the worst in both of them.

Along the way, Jackie meets up with others who are able to be supportive of her as she goes through her change. Even still, she has her own ideas.

At the beginning of the story, Jackie has an estranged relationship with her family and has issues regarding them. Here she has a golden opportunity to clear up the mangled strands. But it isn’t easy as you will see in the book and some things go unsaid that should be spoken.

You are going to have to read the book to find out more.

Cover PhotoI am including another excerpt:

*

Once at home with her night’s supply of booze, she got herself settled. Her phone beeped. It was Robyn again. She picked it up and texted back, “Thank you. I had fun with you last night too. I’m turning in early tonight.”  Then she tossed the device on the sofa.

“I so need to chill tonight. Why won’t this wine work faster?” she said aloud.

Then she remembered something. In the book she was reading, the author spoke of meditation.

That’s it!

She drained her glass and set it on the coffee table. Closing her eyes, she began to do the breathing exercise that Madeline had showed her. She repeated the exercise until she was in a deep relaxed state.

Picture 3Immediately the white dot materialized, and she focused on it as it danced. Then colors appeared. Before she knew it, she was watching a whole kaleidoscope in front of her. A glowing white screen, similar to that in a movie theatre, materialized. The bright light reached out to her and she felt a warm sensation all over. Faint movement appeared on the screen. She further concentrated.

A man she didn’t know was sitting at a bar looking like he was waiting for someone. The atmosphere was rustic. A few large-screen TVs showed baseball games.

The man was soon joined by another man – Kyle. He patted him on the back and sat down on the stool next to him. He got the server’s attention and ordered himself a drink.

He and the man started a conversation, but their voices were muffled, and she could not make it out. A few minutes later, the server returned with Kyle’s drink: a nice foamy beer. Her eyes widened.

This is just a figment of my imagination.

Kyle and his friend continued to talk while Jackie looked around the bar. On one of the walls was a pennant that said “Chicago Cubs.”

Kyle ordered another beer and turned to his friend and mouthed the word “baseball.” Both men turned to a TV that was showing that day’s baseball scores. The Dodgers were ahead in the sixth inning and the Cubs had lost.

Then the bartender came over to both men and shook their hands. He smiled as both men handed him cash.

2839D237-0672-4E3E-9A56-E283862A339F

Gasping, Jackie broke her meditation. Pausing a moment, she jumped off the couch and darted into office, her heart racing the entire time.

She sat down at her computer, her chest still pounding. Frantically, she typed in the Major League Baseball website.

Her eyes widened as she stared at the screen. Not only had the Cubs lost, the score was the same that she had seen on the screen in her meditation! The Dodgers’ score, too, was the same.

Confused, she put her hands on her head and tried to calm down. Not only was Kyle putting his probation into jeopardy, he was also gambling, something he’d told Jackie previously that he was going to cut out.

If this was true, then Jackie had leverage to use against him should he dig into her about her Sunday outings.

Two can play at this game.

Since I had some experiences myself I do believe in « paranormal » so I like it when I can find a good book with a paranormal background.

With « Awakened by Fate » I was surprised (in the good sense of the term) since the blurb doesn’t give us a lot about this side. Unlike some people who just rewrite the plot or give spoilers in their “reviews”, I don’t want to spoil anything so I won’t give any details but let me say I liked a lot how Jackie struggles to process and learn to use her spiritual side and new abilities in the same time she fights her old bad habits (which is never easy so we must be patient … and let her do that at her own pace).
Not on the married and « bad habits » side but in a lot of others, I recognized a lot of things I went through in Jackie’s new life (including the meeting with the good people at the good moment) so I found this novel very interesting.

This unusual book could be helpful for people who are courageous enough to follow a path which usually frightens them … So people, keep an open mind and give this novel a try!!

Thank you for visiting today. It was a pleasure to see you all. Stay tuned for next week when I’ll be featuring a #Flashback Friday of an interview with a lesfic author whose books are the talk of the town.

Until Next Time,

Lynn

My Review of Nico J. Gene’s ‘Reverie Girl’

Hello Everyone and welcome. Thank you for stopping by last week. It was a pleasure seeing new and familiar faces. I can’t thank you enough for your support for my book, ‘Awakened by Fate.’

Today I am featuring my review of Nico J. Genes‘ ‘Reverie Girl. If you read ‘Magnetic Reverie‘ you’re going to love this one.

Reverie Girl Cover

This is the second installment of the ‘Reverie Series.’ It starts out in Vienna, a place that has always been a city of wonder for me. I was excited this story was continuing because I just love the two main characters, Claire and Lana. This time it is told in the first person from two points of view. Like before, there is another quick twist. Then the story unfolds.

Claire is full of light and is seeking higher meaning. In the beginning, she doubts herself and comes across as insecure. I found her to be very real and as I read, I felt a deeper understanding of her. She embarks on a journey to a foreign country. I was impressed the author chose this magnificent place.

51c0b900-0018-11e8-8d06-b1c71a8980a4

However, Claire comes off as a bit obsessed with things. She can be a bit antsy and some of her thoughts stirred up emotions in me, intensifying the plot. However, she is lovable and as I read, I couldn’t wait for her next words.

Claire’s brother, David is back and he plays a much bigger role in her life. The brother-sister bond really touched my heart and the author clearly expressed it.

Lana is very rational. She can get through most situations smoothly. She comes off as being patient and doesn’t allow her emotions to take over. She is firm with her language and she impressed me as being a lady. I loved these traits about her and they deepened her character to another level. She is very mysterious which intrigued me.

There were times I really felt for her because of her insecurities. She tends to follow the crowd and doesn’t like to step outside her boundaries. She is a well put together character.

The antagonist, Greg, is in the story. He is self-centered and only cares about having his trophy wife and his business. He overreacts, and his words caused me to tense up.

The flow of the story is smooth and carries throughout. The author takes the reader on a journey to different places in the world. The way they are described, you will feel like she is guiding you on a tour and the descriptions of the scenery are excellent. The author enlightened me with culture and history.

Canal

What I also like is the depth of character development. I know everyone’s secrets and can see inside their heads. I applaud the author for touching on a spiritual awakening. This left a lasting impression on me and I’m glad I was able to witness it.

The dynamics between the two main players can be rough at times, causing intense drama. You won’t be able to stop turning the pages.

The subtle flirting will excite you. The romance is very hot and tender.

The mother-daughter relations for one of the protagonists made me angry. In the book, you’ll see what I mean.

Be sure to carve out about five hours to read; you’re not going to want to miss anything. It may even give you another perspective on things, like it did me. I am recommending everyone to read this book. It is unlike any other book I’ve read.

Reverie Girl Cover

Here is an excerpt to get you started on this amazing journey. Enjoy!

Hoping still to find my phone I decided to use both hands. To do this I had to let go of my luggage. My suitcase didn’t easily keep balance on its own and fell straight to the floor. I bent down to pick it up and immediately my bag tipped over spewing the entire contents across the floor. Oh, great! When will I stop being so clumsy? Luckily, I didn’t have many items inside. “Do you need help?” I heard a polite male voice. I felt embarrassed and looked up at the person offering to help and barely managed to pull together few words. “No, thank you, I am fine.” Due to my embarrassment, my answer was passed in a cold tone. He really didn’t deserve it. I looked for him again to apologize but he’d left already. I managed to pick up all my belongings and placed them safely back in my bag ensuring all in the vicinity were watching and having fun at my expense. I knew it was silly to think like that, but I couldn’t help it. Then my luggage fell off again. Shit! How awkward! I looked around and felt relieved nobody was watching. Okay, concentrate, please! I must pull myself together. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes to calm down. I opened them feeling silly at getting angry about what had just happened. In the next moment, I froze.Market place square

My eyes lay on a young girl. She was walking graciously towards me. My jaw dropped as my heart went into overdrive. It was just like in the cartoons, with Tom and Jerry. This thought brought a smile to my face but I controlled it. She looked phenomenal. It wasn’t the clothes. She was dressed in casual blue jeans, a navy shirt, and All-star. It was the way she walked and her figure that left me speechless. She was average height and she moved her nicely proportionate body so elegantly. She was slim with amazing curves that would turn many a man’s head. I so wished I’d a body like hers. I wished, even more, I could hold that body in my arms. Her hair, mmmmmm, her hair looked amazing. I smiled at the thought of running my fingers through that long red curly hair. What a girl! I thought. I fell in love instantly. I forgot my suitcase and I was staring up at her whilst she approached. She must surely have noticed that she’d caught my eye. I wasn’t trying to hide it. God, she looked sublime. I was even more enamored when I saw a nice grin on her face. I wasn’t prepared. My cheeks were blushing already due to the whole spill-the-bag thing but her smile made my blushing even worse. It was without any doubt the most beautiful smile I’d ever seen. I tried to smile back nicely, but instead managed only a sheepish grin, which in any case was too late. She’d moved forward. Maybe her smile wasn’t aimed at me. Perhaps if it was, it might have been just for consolation. What was I doing? Was I now imagining I’m getting signals from all the girls who look at me, just because I knew now for sure what my sexual orientation is?Castle in the mountain

Enough with the embarrassment and with the girls for the moment. It wasn’t easy though to forget this gorgeous girl with awesome long red hair. I looked around to see where she’d gone, but it was impossible to spot her anywhere. There will be another girl out there for me. And when I meet her, I will never let her go. So now, back to my plans.

My Review of Kathy L. Salt’s ‘Stargazing’

Good afternoon everyone and welcome. Thank you for visiting last week for my review of Nico J. Genes, ‘Magnetic Reverie.’ If you haven’t checked this book out, I recommend it.

Today I am posting my review for Kathy L. Salt‘s ‘Stargazing.’ I interviewed Kathy back in March, 2018. You can click on the link below for it.

Kathy L. Salt Interview

Stargazing Cover

‘Stargazing‘ is a story between two women, Lissa and Star, who come from two different walks of life. It starts off in the middle of a scene, which took me as a surprise. Keep reading. Let’s meet our main players.

Lissa had a rough upbringing and lost her folks at an early age. Because of this, she dove into things such as work to keep her mind occupied from residual pain. She is low self-esteem. She comes off as nervous and is not very social except with her sister, Dea. She is passive-aggressive. She goes along with the crowd, but secretly deep inside she craves her own life. Her mind pushes her heart away. However, she sees the best in people and doesn’t judge them based on outer appearances.

She’s good at her job but is only doing it for a paycheck. She hides behind her job because she doesn’t think she is worthy to attract a nice woman. She gave up on attracting love long ago and is very inexperienced. Because of her job, she gets abused sometimes by clients. But, she does what she can to keep her emotions in check.

Author photo

Star also had a beginning, due to her mother’s destructive lifestyle. This made me sad and I felt for her. Despite this, Star is very social and is loyal to old friends. She is a cute soft butch and has a tender heart. She has a young spirit isn’t shy about expressing herself. She is laid back and comfortable in most situations.

She is a strong woman and has multiple responsibilities. I loved the mother-daughter relationship described at the hospital. Star is family oriented and wants to make sure her loved ones are taken care of. This really touched me that she put herself aside and put her attention on her mom. Well done. I had tears in my eyes when she went to visit her, and it was hard reading the one-sided conversations.

Like Lissa, Star has her own intimacy fears. She often isolates to hide from how she feels. I loved this character and how she was able to help Lissa work through a few things. The two of them transformed during the story and it was beautiful to watch.

In addition to the protagonists, there are a few supporting characters.

Dierdre is Star’s best friend and immediately I didn’t like her. She is unkind to people she hires. Her boldness turned me off and she is too pessimistic.

Kathy's dogs

Malena is Star’s other friend. She is mysterious yet has a sophisticated vibe. You will be impressed that she is multilingual and has an interest in genealogy. I liked this character and was glad that she had a presence in the story.

Dea is Lissa’s loving sister. I find her to be narrow-minded about certain things.

The flow of the story is really balanced. It is a fun read and I know you’re going to enjoy the characters and the story.

There is plenty of drama from both women that will keep your heart beating fast. Things change in the story that will take you for a ride.

The romance scenes are frequent and extremely intense. They are borderline graphic. Be prepared.

Although no major destinations were mentioned, she did a good job describing places like the beach and a popular hangout.

You are going to want to carve out about four hours so that you can fully absorb the essence of the story. The characters are very well described and fit their roles perfectly. The dynamics vary, and the one that develops between Star and Lissa is priceless. The scenes were written so beautifully that I felt like I was there too. I am recommending this story for all who want to enjoy a fun and steamy romance in sunny California.

Stargazing Cover

I have included an excerpt. Enjoy!

The next Friday, Lissa and Star met outside The Crying Nightingale. Unlike last time, the place was packed. But Star liked it. In the crowd she could pull Lissa to the dance floor and slip into anonymity. No one would bother them or stare at them in a sea of people.

The music beat through their bodies, and they had no choice but to move. Star couldn’t believe everything that she was feeling; she couldn’t remember a woman making her tremble this way since she was a teenager. She put her hands on Lissa’s hips and held their bodies together. She couldn’t bear to be further away from her. She needed Lissa close.

Her heart skipped a beat when Lissa put her arms around Star’s neck and kissed her cheek before they resumed their dance.

“I feel so happy,” Lissa whispered in Star’s ear.

Thank God, Star thought. She wanted Lissa to like her just as much as she did. She saw desire and happiness reflected back at her, in the dim, flashing lights of the club.

The song ended and Star led Lissa to the bar, wanting a drink. “What do you want?”

Stargazing Cover

“Hmm.” Lissa bit her lip again. “I’ve always wanted to try a sex-on-the-beach.”

Star burst out laughing.

“Sure,” she waved at the bartender. “A sex-on-the-beach and a beer, please.”

They stood by the bar while waiting for their drinks. Star grimaced when an elbow from out of nowhere poked her in the back. Lissa smiled and shrugged, put a hand on Star’s forearm and pulled her closer.

“I don’t mind that it’s crowded.” Lissa’s breath hit Star’s ear and made her heart pound and her insides turn to liquid. You need to get a grip, Star, you should have better control than this. She couldn’t remember the last time a woman had had such an effect on her.

They received their drinks and Star laughed at Lissa’s delighted smile when she tried her sex-on-the-beach.

Lissa’s smile disappeared and her eyes went wide.

My review for Nico J. Genes’ ‘Magnetic Reverie’

Good Morning everyone and a warm welcome to you all. I want to thank everyone who participated in my Rafflecoptor, and to congratulate the winners. Special thanks to Stephanie Potos Biedlingmaier and Donna McGuinness for all your efforts.

This morning I’ve had a change of plans and will be instead presenting you my review for Author Nico J. Genes’Magnetic Reverie.’ I had the pleasure of interviewing Nico here on the blog last week. You can click the link below to read it.

This story takes place in the US and in Slovenia. What I can first say is that I was impressed with the descriptions the author did with her home country. She offers a little history too, I felt like I was visiting a friend there, which was comforting. And the sites were magnificent.

There is a big twist near the beginning of the story that will hook you. After this part, I had to find out more. This story subject matter is of a paranormal nature, so of course, I fell in love with it right away. At the beginning of each chapter, there is an introductory paragraph or quote giving you a clue about the chapter’s content. Very well done.

It starts off with the protagonist, Lana, preparing to embark on a new journey into an unfamiliar place. Like anyone else who is in her shoes, she ponders what her life is going to be like. From the start of the book, I found myself imagining the feelings she was experiencing in anticipation of what was to come next. Her confusion starts early in the story, which triggered my curiosity. I had to ask myself, is she losing her mind or is there something much greater?

I felt she had some insecurities and sometimes doubted herself. However, she knew certain things about herself very well and had standards. I applaud the author for making her a bit mysterious. Lana manages to live her life as best as she can. She expresses many emotions and I found her to be a likable character.

She’s married to a man, but deep inside craves the intimacy of a woman. She has a secret obsession which she keeps to herself.

Now meet Claire. She’s one of Lana’s lovers who had a rough upbringing. She is a good listener and takes an understanding of the situation Lana is in. She’s a strong fighter when it comes to Lana and cherishes the relationship. She is spontaneous and adventuresome and really knows how to make a good time special.

The sensual scenes are perfectly described and hot! There is enough to go around. The flirting between Lana and Claire got my adrenaline moving. The author took great care in creating these scenes. You’ll see what I mean when you read the book.

I had to slow down reading so I didn’t miss anything. The story flows very well and the tone is inviting. The author does an excellent job of handling the complexity of Lana. The plot had me guessing the entire ride. All I can is WOW! I am recommending this book to everyone and it is one that will stay with me for a long time.

You are going to want to read her next book in the series, ‘Reverie Girl.’

Magnetic Reverie Excerpt

“We were ready for bed when I realized that my leg was hurting and swollen. It wasn’t just a sprain after all. I didn’t want to worry her, but she noticed it. She took immediate action and went to the landlord for ice and a towel. She used the towel to put the ice in and wrapped it around my ankle. She tied it up with her scarf. I looked at how carefully she took care of my leg. My heart was swelling with love. I spent time looking at her, and her gesture touched my heart and made me feel special.

“I love you,” I said. Despite the low volume, she heard me. She looked at me. Her eyes were sparkling. For a moment, she didn’t say or do anything, mostly because she was shocked. She wasn’t expecting to hear it, but I realized that what I felt for her was true love. This was it! I was in love with the girl from my dreams! She came closer and hugged me and began to kiss me deeply. It seemed that her eyes were in tears. I was sure they were tears of happiness. “I love you too, babe. I have never stopped loving you. You made me so happy now. My dream came true!” she said and continued kissing me. She was so happy.

She stopped for a while with the kisses and continued telling me, “This was my wish when I pulled the rope in the chapel. I wanted to hear you tell me at least once more that you love me. These words from your mouth are music to my ears.”

Hearing this made me feel even better. It was a moment of great joy, happiness and fulfillment, and also of hope. As her wish came true, there were chances that my wish could come true as well. We fell asleep, hugging each other, with smiles on our faces. I never wanted this to end. I was happy, very happy. Although I was tired, Claire fell asleep before I did. Her hands were curled around me, and I felt her breath. It was a relaxing sound. She was so beautiful at night, too, my angel with blue eyes, blond hair and a wonderful heart. And her heart belonged to me.
